Earth Day at the cusp of Nisan and Iyar

It seems appropriate that this is Iyar, month of healing, and also the place of fixed earth sign Taurus when we’re so near Earth Day. The earth is our fixed home. We must become healing stewards of this land if we are to stay grounded and continue.

In this same way, our bodies are our homes – fixed though mutable as our planet. We change, but the body remembers and grows from that fixed home that is our physical self. We must also be healers and steward of our bodies, taking the care that society will not.

Our care of the Earth and care of our earthling bodies are intimately tied together.

Dandelion Theology

On TikTok I’ve been talking about dandelion queer theology, how their disruption of the American lawn system and their resilience are beautiful natural lessons for us. Were moving into Tiferet week of Omer count. Tiferet is also symbolically the sun in kabbalistic associations, the site of our “highest” earthly god-field connection.

And so may we be blessed and may we bless others with the sacred spring dandelion

May we all merit a deep tap root of stability.
May we all bring sustenance to others even in early thaws.
May we all find times to be unapologetically bright blossoms.
May we all be a home for wishes.
May we all spread the seeds of wishing to wherever they may find root.
May we be a menace and annoyance to those who wish to control the gorgeous natural queerness of our world.

Schlepping towards Olam haBa

Shabbat shalom beloveds 💜

Something is lingering as Shabbos approaches. Something about greatness on this Shabbat haGadol, about Trans Day of Visibility. About how – even though we leave the narrows during the day – freedom comes during that long night, at the precise unknowable midnight.

There will come a point when the tide will turn towards dreams and dawn. I hope it’s soon.
